Mini, 2 Sec Type of Soap Box
Last night i volunteered for the first time at a women's homeless shelter. In just a few hours i learned a couple lessons. First, i dont intend to but in my mind, i think i always generalized the homeless, which is crazy because with this economy so many people are close to the poverty line. The women i helped last night were polite, sweet, most had jobs and were pretty amazing. I have a feeling i will end up getting more out of this experience than i am giving. I also learned that i will probably never consider my life hard or complicated ever again. So i volunteer because i give what i have, which it time and there is no point in complaining about things if your not going to work to make them better. Whether holding a silver spoon or their hands out, people are equal in the end. No amount of money can buy peace of mind, I think thats what we're all searching for. That one thing that can stifle our rampant running minds. Sounds like you've found that path, keep soaking it all in...for its pain, lessons, and beauty.
